The work explores the relationship between the conscious and unconscious. The black form represents the unconscious, holding a broken mirror against the white conscious space. It does not shy away from what it reflects—the truth remains the truth, even when it appears fragmented, imperfect, or difficult to confront.
The work explores the relationship between the conscious and unconscious. The black form represents the unconscious, holding a broken mirror against the white conscious space. It does not shy away from what it reflects—the truth remains the truth, even when it appears fragmented, imperfect, or difficult to confront.
Yet the broken mirror is not presented as something damaged or ugly. Its sharp, irregular edges catch light, movement, and reflection differently, giving each shard a presence of its own. As the viewer moves, their image fractures and reforms across the composition, revealing unexpected beauty within what is broken. From the structure falls a single droplet—a symbol of purification, suggesting what may remain after truth has been confronted and passed through.
