Lover’s Sacrifice explores love through the structure of sacrifice. The figure is suspended in a cruciform posture, pulled outward from every direction while still attempting to hold a center. The body is reduced almost to membrane—thin, elastic, vulnerable. At its core sits a single rose: the beloved, held close and protected while the figure absorbs the strain around her.What emerges is the contradiction at the center of the work—sometimes love is expressed not by holding on, but by becoming the one willing to let go.
