Resonance is one of the artist’s most materially immersive works, merging painting, sculpture, textile, and organic matter into a singular presence. Rather than depicting the horse traditionally, the piece attempts to embody its psychological and spiritual force.Real hair cascades from the canvas like an untamed mane, collapsing the distance between subject and object. Fabric, preserved leaves, metallic fragments, and layered textures create a surface that feels excavated rather than painted — as though the animal emerged from memory, earth, and ruin simultaneously. The eye becomes the emotional center of the work. Alert, ancient, and exhausted, it carries the weight of survival without surrender. Teal, ultramarine, ash, and rust tones move across the horse’s body like bruises, rivers, and battle markings, suggesting endurance rather than perfection.

The asymmetry of the composition is intentional. Parts of the form appear fragmented or unfinished, emphasizing the idea that strength is rarely pristine. The work rejects the polished heroism often associated with horses and instead presents the creature as mythic, wounded, intelligent, and alive. There is an almost ritualistic quality to the materials themselves. The preserved flora and tactile elements behave like offerings or relics, reinforcing the horse as an archetype rather than merely an animal — a symbol of instinct, resilience, solitude, and motion through adversity
